This time, city of Toyama is selected ’52 places to go in 2025′ by The New York Times.

It’s ’a bolt from the blue, so we’ve heard with surprise, and we’ve very honored as a private citizen.

In the article, ‘The Glass Art Museum’ which was designed by Kengo Kuma, was introduced as ‘a towering cathedral of timber and light’.

Also, ‘Alpes’ which offers French bistro bites, Hida which is an izakaya (Japanese pub), ‘Suzukeema’ which serves seasonal Japanese curries, ‘Blue Train’ where people enjoy coffee surrounded by model trains, ‘Hanamizuki-no-heya’ which is a family-run jazz bar, were featured.

All of them are near of our shop ‘Nemuriya’.

Except for ‘Alpes’, the distance is less than 850 meters from ‘Nemuriya’.

Even from ‘Alpes’, the distance is 1,300 meters.

From every spot, you can come to ‘Nemuriya’ within 10~15 minutes on foot.

Nemuriya is established in 1908.

This spring, we’ll celebrate 117 years since founding.

The current owner is 5th generation.

He uses natural materials, such cotton, linen, silk, wool, buckwheat hulls, and makes bedding by hand, using traditional Japanese techniques.

His motto is “increasing of deep sleeper”, so he makes bedding, and gives lectures, eagerly.

Please relax and have a good time with his works from the heart.

Thank you for your continued support Nemuriya, inheriting Japan’s traditional industry.

We look forward to seeing you.

Sincerely, from staffs of Nemuriya
